Upgrade for gold recovery from rock dump
MTI Engineering fabricated and installed the structural and mechanical steelwork for a 1.2 km overland conveyor at Sibanye-Stillwater's Kloof operation, forming part of a growth plant upgrade to recover gold from rock dump material.
Overland conveying at this length is a logistics exercise as much as a steel one: gantry sections, trestles and walkways are fabricated in repeatable modules, marked and sequenced so that erection can advance continuously along the route rather than waiting on deliveries.
